Old Paths Independent Baptist Church
Welcome to our church website. Old Paths Independent Baptist Church is a new church in Salida, CO planted out of Little River Independent Baptist Church in Spring Lake, NC with the purpose of evangelizing Salida and Chaffee County with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We are an old fashioned, King James Bible preaching, missions hearted, Independent Baptist Church. (To see more of what we believe look under "What We Believe") OPIBC held their first service on Resurrection Sunday (24 April, 2011).
You may ask: Why name your church Old Paths Independent Baptist Church? Well, Old Paths IBC started as a burden from God, laid upon the heart of its Pastor, to see an old fashioned, Bible believing, Bible preaching, Independent Baptist Church in the Salida area. In this day of contemporary, non-Biblical, “worship” we believe in preaching the old King James Bible because it has stood the test of time and we believe it to be the perfect, preserved, and inspired Word of God. We also sing the old hymns because we believe that the hymns magnify the Saviour, edify the saints, and prepare the worshipper for the preaching of the Word of God. We also believe in old fashioned righteous living. By that we mean being a Christian at work on Monday morning as well as in Church on Sunday. Living the Christian life every day, witnessing to people of the salvation that we have through Jesus Christ, and all in all - pleasing God. We are not a perfect people – Just forgiven!
